Indubitable Issues

LOOKING FOR BOOKS TO BUY THIS WEEK?

LOOK NO FURTHER.

HERE ARE SOME ISSUES THAT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

Dean doesn’t want you to forget about…
field-1The Field #1
I do not usually recommend a comic I know nothing about but that is because I have never come across a comic about Fugue state written by Ed Brisson.  “A man wakes in a field wearing nothing but his underwear. He’s got no idea who he is or how he got there. His only connection to the outside world is a cell phone that receives mysterious texts warning him of impending danger.” Does it get any better than that? I don’t remember…

Tyler flexes his muscle and recommends…
SHShe Hulk #3

It’s like Ally McBeal, if Ally were a Gamma irradiated super-hero, opening up her own practice to help super-powered clients of the 616……Okay so it’s nothing like Ally McBeal, but Lawyers!

Reed wants you to keep your humanity by reading…
IHInhuman #1
It would be inhuman to pass up this comic.

Patrick wants you to buff up on your history with…
jan140353Superman Red Son TPB
What is probably the best thing Mark Millar has ever worked on where he does the “ZOMG what if Superheroes were like this” shtick but also something very interesting with the premise that explores the  Cold War, differences in political ideology, the nature of power and the cyclical nature of history. This is elseworlds but I prefer to consider it our Superman’s prequel. What this shows is that systems are simply tools. It is the people that make a nation.

Cosmo knows that cool goats don’t look at explosions…
feb141469Quantum & Woody #9
After last month’s outstanding zero issue, Quantum & Woody starts a new arc this week. Expect the usual high quality mix of (semi-)heroics and comedy. Plus, Kano takes over art duties. Should be another great issue. Oh, and have I ever mentioned that there’s this goat in it . . .

Itho thinks this is another Batman title you should be trying…
dcDetective Comics #30
The hit team behind the Flash and the Rogues for the last 2 years has arrived in Gotham for their debut. Will lightning strike twice for Buccellato and Manapul?

  1. Haha…I’m really tempted to get Quantum and Woody just for the goat. It’s a pretty light week for me so who knows.

The Field’s origin sounds almost like the Savage Dragon origin except it was in a burning building and no cell phone…
