Countdown to the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con

998099_587822961312228_812703770_nWell it is just about that time! I am extremely excited I will be attending the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con in less than a week. The lists of guests keeps getting better and better. I hope I have enough room in my suitcase for all the issues I plan to get signed, not to mention all the merchandise I plan on bringing back (my t-shirt collection is going to receive a serious upgrade). They have released their programming schedule at http://www.amazinglasvegascomiccon.com/programming/ and it looks like there are some exciting panels to attend this year. Take a look at the guest list at http://www.amazinglasvegascomiccon.com/special-guests/ if you see a guest that you have a question for email me at dean_manness@hotmail.com with your question. Make sure to title the subject line AMAZING LAS VEGAS COMIC CON QUESTION and I’ll see if I can work it into my day. Those questions must be in by Wednesday June 18th as I am leaving for Las Vegas on Thursday June 19th.

Remember to check out my first post on the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con to see the guests attending. Just as a refresher here are a few of the names attending the con this year. George Perez, Steve Epting, Adam Kubert, Len Wein, Herb Trimpe, Jim Valentino, Chad Hardin, Gerry Duggan, Charles Soule, John Layman, and Brain Buccellato.

There have been some exciting new guest announcements since my last post. One of the biggest announcements being the attendance of Jim Lee. We have had many conversations on this site about Jim Lee, he is no doubt one of the greats when it comes to comic book art and is currently the Co-Pulisher of DC Entertainment. Not only do they have a signing session with Jim Lee (which I’m sure the line will be ridiculous) but they also have a very exciting drawing demo panel. Jim Lee will take requests from fans at the panel and spend an hour drawing their favourite characters. At the end of the panel some fans will win the original art! I am super excited for this panel. Fingers crossed for some original art!

Another exciting guest announcement is Andy Schmidt. Andy Schmidt is the president of Comic Experience. Comic Experience is a website where Andy Schmidt has brought together some of the best comic creators to provide some online courses which will help all you aspiring writers and artists to acquire the tools it takes to break into the comic industry. As a writer this is always something on my mind, to one day write that comic book the world will love. Andy Schmidt will be putting on multiple seminars at the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con focusing on how Comic Experience can help you with your comic. Also there will be a few intense seminars about writing and drawing your comics. I am extremely excited for these seminars. I think they might give me the push I need to start writing.

Our friends at Valiant Entertainment will also be there hosting a panel on Saturday afternoon. I am looking forward to hearing about the Valiant Vision.

I am personally looking forward to stopping by friend of the site Larime Taylor’s booth on Artist Alley. I have seen some of his prints via Facebook and they look fantastic!

If you can’t tell I am extremely excited about attending the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con starting this Friday. Make sure to check them out at their website http://www.amazinglasvegascomiccon.com, also follow them on Facebook for all Con updates https://www.facebook.com/AmazingLasVegasComicCon.
