Indubitable Issues and Pull List (02/17/16)

LOOKING FOR BOOKS TO BUY THIS WEEK?

LOOK NO FURTHER.

HERE ARE SOME ISSUES THAT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

Cosmo’s Recommendations …
AngelaQueenOfHel

Angela, Queen of Hel #5
“When Angela’s first ongoing was announced there was a fair amount of eye-rolling (myself included). With the current All-New All-Different second series, Marguerite Bennett has proved wrong all those naysayers (myself included). The book is a great mix of action and character; indeed, its heart is the endearing romance between Angela and Sera. This is a delightful series, well worth checking out. Oh, plus you get a few pages of painted art from the extraordinarily talented Stephanie Hans. Really, how could you lose here ..?”

HowardTheDuckHoward the Duck Complete Collection Volume 2

“The second half of Steve Gerber’s iconic run arrives in trade. Howard comes into conflict with religious fanatics waging a culture war and a domineering soulless corporate retailer trying to smash the competition by any means necessary. Oh and he gets sucked into a Star Wars parody. In other words, Gerber’s tales are just as biting and timely as ever. Plus, art from Gene Colan and Carmine Infantino. What else need I say? Waughhhh!”

Tyler’s Recommendations…

Karnak2Karnak #2

“Believe it or not, Karnak is back. With the huge gap between issues, you may want to brush up on issue 1 before Wednesday. Attilan’s grumpiest Inhuman is helping SHIELD out of the goodness of his heart. On a rescue mission in the enemy’s lair
our hero(?) will destroy all who stand in his way. I’m predicting a lot of awesome.”

CryHavoc2Cry Havoc #2
“Simon Spurrier and Ryan Kelly’s new series got off to a fantastic start. The artwork by Ryan Kelly is stellar in both composition and layout, and colorists Matt Wilson, Nick Filardi, and Lee Loughridge all provide distinct examples of the impact and importance of color in a graphic story. An experimental storytelling style is exciting on its own, but it is even better when anchored by a compelling narrative and characters, and Cry Havoc has exactly that.”

 Dean’s Recommendation…
NowhereMenNowhere Men #8
“Don’t look now but I think Nowhere Men is releasing two comics in consecutive months..”

Josh’s Recommendation…
TeenTitans17Teen Titans #17
“To me, Teen Titans begins and ends with the 2003-2006 cartoon series. The show blended humor, action, and drama seamlessly. Greg Pak writing the comic is the closet reason I’ve seen yet to check out the property that inspired one of my favorite DC shows.”

As I’m sure you all have noticed, the pull list page is no longer present. We here at Nothing But Comics have decided to combine this weekly with the discussion of which comics we are all buying for the week. Included below is the link of our personal favorite product guide. Don’t worry, this is not an advertisement; the website is not paying us anything to push it (not that we’d object!). Comic List just happens to be totally awesome. So check out that massive list and then come on back here to let us know what you are buying.
