This is an odd little book. Well, maybe not quite so little, as it is immediately apparent that Neal Adams is working on a vast canvas for this project. The cover alone depicts not two, but four Supermen poised for action, while lightning streaks the background. Beneath the cover, it only takes three pages for the Parademons to appear. This is a comic that hits the ground running and never lets up, jumping from one dramatic moment to the next. Adams mixes this high-octane action with some off-beat narrative twists that are responsible for the whole issue feeling, yes, a bit odd. However, considering that this is the same mind responsible for Batman Odyssey, readers should not have been expecting anything less.
