Indubitable Issues and Pull List (07/20/16)

LOOKING FOR BOOKS TO BUY THIS WEEK?

LOOK NO FURTHER.

HERE ARE SOME ISSUES THAT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

Cosmo’s Recommendations …
ArcherAndArmstrong5A&A The Adventures of Archer and Armstrong #5
“How do you make Faith Herbert any more endearing? Send her out on a date with Obadiah Archer. It’s a charming evening full of awkward romance, geek-culture references and super-villain shenanigans. Fun times.”

Faith1Faith #1
“While you’re at it, pick up a copy of Faith’s new ongoing series, which also debuts this week. Her delightful adventures continue to soar . . . “

Tyler’s Recommendations…
BettyAndVeronica1
Betty and Veronica #1
“The new Archie comics have been pretty great, so it’s a given I’m checking this one out. Adam Hughes is a very talented artist, but I’ve never read anything by him, just admired his cover work. This has all the right ingredients to be an awesome series, so grab yourself one of the 25–you heard me, 25!–variants covers this Wednesday.”

Island9Island #9
“A new issue of one of the best things happening in comics right now. The anthology format has always been a tricky one, but I think Brandon Graham and Emma Rios have cracked the code with this series. Each installment contains multiple full issues of various lengths by different creators. Some are familiar, but many of them you may never have heard of. Trust me though, you need to discover their awesomeness.”

 Josh’s Recommendations…
HellblazerRebirth1Hellblazer Rebirth #1
“Maybe its all the rumors for a season 2 of his show, but I’m craving some good ol John Constantine. The Constantine with that roguish swagger, and Machiavellian gleam in his eyes. Time to see if Ol John feels like rejoining the public eye once again.”

GreenArrow3Green Arrow #3
“A bit rocky, Green Arrow is proving to be a hard series to pin down much less put. Otto Schmidt’s art is fantastic, and Percy shows great handling of the characters. Let’s see what this month brings as we undertake Robin Arrow once more.”

As I’m sure you all have noticed, the pull list page is no longer present. We here at Nothing But Comics have decided to combine this weekly with the discussion of which comics we are all buying for the week. Included below is the link of our personal favorite product guide. Don’t worry, this is not an advertisement; the website is not paying us anything to push it (not that we’d object!). Comic List just happens to be totally awesome. So check out that massive list and then come on back here to let us know what you are buying.

  1. Batman
    Green Lanterns
    Justice League
Grant Morrison’s Avatarex Destroyer Of Darkness
    Island
    Manifest Destiny
Faith – I can’t resist a Kevin Wada cover and who knows, maybe this will be the series that finally gets me into Valiant.

    1. Faith is really positive. It is kind of unique at the moment. Valiant hasn’t had a good year but over the next 6 months a lot of new series are coming out. I would recommend all the new #1s.

  2. I already have Faith but I’d trade that for Betty and Veronica on an Island. Does that sound like misogyny? ……uh …. The New Ghostbusters is great! Seriously …. Melania Trump hates the new Ghostbusters … I dont know why? She keeps on saying how it’s just a ripoff. Go figure.

  3. Black Hammer
    Dark Horse Presents
    Dept H
    Groo Fray of the Gods
    Weird Detective
    Batman
    Green Arrow
    Superman

    Ant-Man
    Darth Vader
    Guardians of Infinity
