LOOKING FOR BOOKS TO BUY THIS WEEK?
LOOK NO FURTHER.
HERE ARE SOME ISSUES THAT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.
Tyler’s Recommendations … Kill Or Be Killed #2“The second installment of the newest Brubaker/Phillips/Breitweiser jam. A comic by this team is always going on my recommendation list. This series has a slightly different spin than what we’ve come to expect out of this team’s collaboration, and I’m very intrigued by it. Gorgeous artwork, compelling characters and story, why would you not pick this up?”
Glitterbomb #1
“The premise sounds like a collaboration film by David Lynch and John Carpenter. Jim Zub has done some great stuff, (Skull-Kickers, Wayward) so I’m excited to check out a his newest project, and the preview art from Djibril Morisette-Phan looks fantastic.” Josh’s Recommendation… Flintstones #3 “Meet the new Flintstones! I’ve been raving about this series for the past two issues, it is wonderfully subverse but still faithful to Hanna-Barbara’s original cartoon. Pick it up and see what the new Stone-Age family looks like.” Dean’s Recommendations… Paper Girls #9
“Missing Stranger Things? Re-watch it. It totally holds up the second time around. When you finish that if you’re still bored pick up Paper Girls #9 cause it’s also pretty cool.” Moon Knight #6
“This series has been getting better with each issue, all leading up to the arc ending issue #5 which utilized every great aspect of a comic book and delivered an exceptional conclusion. I’m extremely anxious to get my hands on the next installment to see where Lemire and Smallwood take us next. “
As I’m sure you all have noticed, the pull list page is no longer present. We here at Nothing But Comics have decided to combine this weekly with the discussion of which comics we are all buying for the week. Included below is the link of our personal favorite product guide. Don’t worry, this is not an advertisement; the website is not paying us anything to push it (not that we’d object!). Comic List just happens to be totally awesome. So check out that massive list and then come on back here to let us know what you are buying.
I saw a crescent moon tonight and I thought, “that’s a moon knight moon”. Halloween is coming up and everyone should check out the original werewolf by night comics. I’ll be rereading them next month. Jack Russel the werewolf by night originally appeared in moon knight. How cool is that? Two moon powered characters for the price of one.
I love those old Werewolf by Night issues! Old school horror books are my jam!
Ya, it’s strange but I think werewolf by night was way better than Marvel’s Tomb of Dracula series although Tomb is perhaps more popular.
For me, I’ve always liked werewolves more than vampires, so that had a lot to do with my liking WbN more than ToD for sure.
Ya, that is probably the same with me. I’ll know for sure next month.
Wasn’t it that Moon Knight debuted in Werewolf By Night?
Yes, Moon Knight came from WbN.
Oh ya, you’re correct Pat.. I know that but my visual brain overrode my language brain and laid a fart. Ya, werewolf by night’s comic is the one that moon knight makes his first appearance in with a very prominant moon knight image on the cover.
Just assume if I type the words Jack Russel in a paragraph that I’ve had a brain fart somewhere else in the paragraph.
It’s worth noting that I hate anyone that uses the phrase “brain fart”. So thanks Pat; now I hate myself. 🙈
“now I hate myself”
I’ve been told I have that effect on people
Why do you think Dean and I have to drink while doing the podcast with Patrick?
I almost jumped in front of a car because Patrick ripped into me for not knowing that Dr Doom was the shit.
Ha.
Dr Doom is the shit though.
Fucking. Pirate. Treasure
